How your money can help
Your donations allow us to meet the needs of people with myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs). At MPN Voice we strive to help people with MPNs to live the best lives they can.
Education and support make up about half our annual investment. Starting in 2009 we began to invest in drug research, with the trial of the drug vorinostat in people with essential thrombocythaemia (ET) and polycythaemia vera (PV). In 2011 we offered grants to researchers for both baseline and drug research and in 2013 we funded the first part of the epidemiology study for MPNs, we are continuing to support this study with annual grants.
At MPN Voice we rely entirely upon donations and fundraising. We use your donations for various activities including:
- Patients’ forum for 100 people – £1,000 - £1,500
- Hire a research assistant or nurse for one day a week to support trials of new drugs – £10,000 per annum
- Employ a junior scientist one day per week to conduct research – £6,000 per annum
We can all be fundraisers – please make a gift today using your debit or credit card, you will be redirected to the Guy’s and St Thomas’ donation page, on the drop down menu choose option ‘other’ and type in MPN Voice in the space that will appear to make your choice of beneficiary, or if you prefer to send a cheque please make them payable to:
