As we approach the festive season, the MPN Voice Fundraising Team would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude and warmest Christmas wishes to all our incredible fundraisers, supporters, and community members.
Reflecting on 2025
This year has been extraordinary — a true testament to compassion, determination, and collective spirit. Your efforts have not only raised vital funds but also spread awareness about Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (MPNs) in ways that inspire us all.
From marathons and half marathons across the UK, an Ironman, a global walking challenge, to 3 Peaks climbs, Ultra Treks across stunning UK and European landscapes, epic cycle rides, hospital abseils, cake sales, honesty box stalls, creative fundraising evenings, and birthday fundraisers — every event has made a difference.
Walk to Support
Our fourth global Walk to Support during Blood Cancer Awareness Month was particularly memorable, with a new logo and limited-edition T-shirts. Participants choosing distances of 5km, 10km, or 20km and beyond — walking with friends, family, or individually.
This was our biggest Walk to Support year yet. Patients, families and friends got together creating inspired teams, some joined the Thames Bridges Trek, while others braved the Three Peaks and many walking in the beauty of their own local areas. Some quietly walked on their own choosing a special walk or committing themselves to a daily walk to the shop. Every walk counted and we are so proud of you all. Please give some thought on how you or your family and friends could participate in 2026 to ensure our flagship event grows year on year! This inclusivity and enthusiasm truly embodies the spirit of our MPN community.
Supporting Research
Your fundraising has directly supported critical research, MPN Voice has continued to support many research projects, including: the MASCOT study, a registry and coagulation-based study for MPN patients with a large clot affecting their liver; MITHRIDATE which is a first line study for 596 patients with PV; and MOSAICC which is a large epidemiology study.
We are also funding studies to assess molecular response in more detail, reasons for skin cancer development and immune profiling for patients on Momelotinib. Many health care professionals have benefited this year from ‘Fiona’s Fund’ set-up from legacies, to support the educational needs of clinical staff, prioritising nurses, pharmacists, psychologists and allied health professionals.
Finally, support for the MyMPNVoice APP Study. Please do strongly consider signing up for this study, the wearable study is almost fully recruited but the digital/database aspect is really important.
To use the app currently you need to be part of the study and a UK patient. Details on how to sign-up to be part of the study can be found here.
Research studies bring hope and potential breakthrough treatments closer to those living with MPNs and maybe one day, a cure.
