Pegylated Interferon Alpha – Supply & Commissioning Update
We are very pleased to let you know that the recent shortage of Pegasys interferon has now been resolved, and hospitals are beginning to receive normal supplies again.
While Pegasys was in short supply, some people were prescribed a different interferon called Besremi to make sure treatment could continue without interruption. NHS England has now confirmed that hospitals will be arranging for patients to move back from Besremi to Pegasys.
We understand that any change in medication can feel unsettling. Please be assured that your clinical team will support you through this change and make sure your treatment remains safe and effective.
To help explain what this means and to answer common questions, we have recorded a short VLOG which you can watch.
