The Young Patients’ Forum is a dedicated event for MPN patients aged 40 and under only. It is a unique opportunity to meet with other young people living with MPNs and share stories, experiences, and challenges with each other. It also offers the chance to receive clinical information tailored to young patients around diagnosis, treatment, and self-care. This builds on the success of last year’s inaugural Young Patient Forum, as well as the digital Young Patient Network which continues to be a valuable source of support and connection for young people in our community.
The programme will include a variety of presentations from specialist clinicians and nurses covering topics such as: an overview of MPNs and their symptoms; treatments and their side effects; lifestyle tips, particularly around education, careers, and family planning; fertility and pregnancy; and the psychological impact of living with a chronic illness. There will also be an opportunity to hear from young patient speakers sharing their journeys to diagnosis and experiences of living with an MPN. Additionally, there will be a panel Q&A and breakout groups where ET, MF and PV patients can meet in smaller groups to discuss everyday challenges and swap tips, and where partners/family/friends can meet to exchange experiences.
The forum will be led by Prof Claire Harrison (Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital, London), with speakers to be confirmed very shortly.
Complimentary coffee, tea, and light refreshments will be served.
You are welcome to bring a partner/family member/friend with you (maximum one guest only).
The meeting will be in the R & D Department on the 16th floor, Guy’s Hospital, London.
